Storytelling (vs. simulation), strong design and layout, solo/duo play ( i.e. 1,2 players), assessable to a wide audience, video chat/internet friendly, clear rules, quick start, visual over written when possible, creativity / storytelling, low 'footprint' i.e. does not take much space to play, uses easy to find tools (d6, playing cards).
